I'm finishing up a "reproduction" of a custom order for a client before diving into another ongoing custom order (in which I anticipate wrapping up this coming week). I've a few custom orders lined up for the summer and am quite thrilled about it! :)
For those interested, I've still got room in my calendar for custom orders, whether hand-painted greeting cards, small paintings (4x6 or 5x7), logos, etc. I'm also offering a 10% discount on any new custom orders until June 23, 2013. So, if you're interested, please email me at bluechairdiary@yahoo.com. Whatever the occasion - July 4th, birthdays, weddings, etc.
On one final note, I received a letter from the college this week congratulating me on my academic success for my 2012-2013 semesters and making the college Vice President's List with my 3.9 GPA. Yippeee!
Happy SS! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone's been up to this past week.

Creative Tuesdays - Trio
Hello! It's time for another fabulous round of Creative Tuesdays and this time, the theme is "TRIO". I had a lot of fun with this particular theme and in the process, challenged myself to do zentangle work for the first time ever! Uh huh. :)
Introducing my turtle trio, each filled with stripes, dots and a few splashes of color. hee

Sunday Sketches
It's been a busy week trying to get back to a "regular" schedule with my Spring semester finals behind me. Yes, I'm officially done for the summer and finished with a 3.9 GPA! It was also my father's birthday this week, so there was alot of mixed emotions. Today's one of those days I wish my father, my daddy, could see just how happy I am with my life and all I've accomplished in the past 17 months that have gone by since he left this world. Sigh.
Anyway, with that said, I wasn't able to break for some art, so please accept my apologies. I'll be back to a regular routine next week. In the meantime, please do post your artwork as I'm looking forward to sitting down with the perfect hot cuppa and visiting everyone. :)
Happy SS! :)

Artist Spotlight - Leanne Daphne Design
Tell
us something about yourself. Where do you live, how old are you (roughly), your
background, family, etc.
What is the inspiration behind your artwork? Do you have a particular person that inspires you in your work/life?
My dream career is always at the back on my mind. It motivates me in getting better in all my work.
What is the one thing that you hope that your artwork will do for others?
That practice makes perfect. The more you practice, the better you can get! Don't give up on what you want.
What encouragement and/or tips can you give to other inspiring individuals?
Take your time and research how to do certain aspects like hair, eyes, and lips if you're doing portraits. Maybe even research and study techniques as well, for realistic trees, water or sky. Seeing how other people do their work helps give how you can build on yours creating your own and making you're work amazing. Don't rush anything and focus on tones and shadows in drawing, if you want realism that’s what you focus on.

My name is
Leeanne Daphne. I'm 18 years old and live in the Highlands, of Scotland. I grew
up here most of my life but have travelled a lot and lived throughout Scotland
and England! I have always been creative but it started when I was in high
school. I didn’t have the best experiences during this time, so drawing was
always something I did to take my mind off of troubles and worries. It was an escape for me.
It soon became more of a hobby growing up and a way of finding me! I love drawing and
creating. I have created my own drawing and tattoo portfolio, which I’m still
continuing to build up. I have done some tattoo artist training and want to
continue it in the future, once fiancés and location are better! I want a
career in my passion and dream it will be amazing once I get there. But
currently I am drawing, drawing, drawing and boosting up my skills to be the
best.
How long have you been painting/illustration/doing art?
How long have you been painting/illustration/doing art?
I have
been doing it for at least 6 years nonstop, but creativity has always been a
strong point about me.
What’s your favorite medium?
What’s your favorite medium?
My
favorite medium would definitely have to be pencil and graphite! I do like to
paint occasionally but I’m a stronger drawer.
I prefer portraits but I’m getting
into animals currently. I’m a visual learner and I like to have a photo beside
me when doing art.
What are your favorite tools for creating your art?
Definitely
chalk and a putty eraser. Chalk gives your work that lightness you need when
creating realism, while the putty eraser is so neat and exact when creating
tones. What are your favorite tools for creating your art?

Sunday Sketches
Well, it's finally arrived - my last week of the semester - and let me tell you how much I'm looking forward to my summer break. I'm ready for some time off simply to recoup, revitalize, move to a new home and focus on some artwork for awhile! Uh huh. Oh yeah. :)
One of the many things to keep me going this semester was those many hot cuppas of tea or peppermint mochas. Ahhhh.
Oh - and some SUPER awesome news -- I've been awarded THREE scholarship for this coming 2013/14 Fall/Spring semester classes! Yippeee!!
Happy SS to all of my wonderful peeps! :)
