Creative Tuesdays: Love Is In The Air

It's not that often I participate in Creative Tuesdays but felt this round was fitting since it's Mr. Toast's (aka hubby!) birthday. So, why not hop on board and wish him a happy birthday right along with the current theme... Love Is In The Air.

It's a "big" one for him, so there are lots of fun things planned over the next few days with a few gifts here and there, to boot! I do hope he enjoys every bit of his celebrations - he's certainly deserving of it all. So, here's to you, my handsome rugged Englishman. Happy Birthday! You're one incredible man, husband, father, friend and confidant! Thank you for who you are and all you do! We're all blessed to have you in our lives. xx

  1. I love how you've depicted you two as cute 'hoggies'. Perhaps Michael, like me, grew up with one his English garden. Watching them snuffle around in the shrubbery, then roll up in the fallen leaves for a long winter sleep, we always felt blessed having hedgehogs around. They are so cute but need a lot of care now that humans having taken over much of their habitats, and traffic is now their greatest enemy.

Many happy returns to your wonderful hubby - I know you will spoil him big time - and that's alright as he deserves it.

Hugs to you both, have a fun time - Mary

    1. Thank you, Mary! And yes, we had a hedgie in our tiny walled backyard in London of all places! I love them. Wish we had them here in CO but I suspect they would not enjoy the snow too much! you are so clever to figure out that Alex was indeed doing one of us. How funny.

  4. So cute, perhaps as hedgehogs are becoming less in numbers in the UK they will take heart from your drawing that people do love them and will try and help their plight. The flower and card in his pocket is a clever addition to a very lovely painting. No doubt you will spoil Michael on his special day and he will just love it all.

  8. Alexandra, I am so happy to see you've made the time to participate in CT. And how perfectly fitting that you should draw and paint this adorable piece of who else, but you and Mr. Toast. How did you create the background? Signed, a curious Canadian. I know you're spoil your better half. Have fun celebrating together. :-)

    1. Thanks, Tracy. I create pretty much all of my texture with watercolor and various brushes. Sometimes, I use Photoshop to enhance areas of my paintings so it stands out more.
