Sunday Sketches

Hello and WELCOME to another fabulous week of Sunday Sketches!  It's been delightful visiting peeps, old and new, these past few weeks.  It fills my heart with great warmth to see this co-op continuing to grow.  :)

It's been a struggle this past week; trudging through mid-term tests and studies.  However, those are now behind me and I'm in the final 6 weeks of the semester! Whoa.  I'm looking forward to having the summer off to breathe, be creative and just recoup before the Fall semester begins in August.

So, keep an eye out here for sneak peeks throughout the summer on some of my own projects, like the little guy above, as well as custom projects for some of my wonderful customers.

Happy SS!  Off to see what everyone else has been up to this week.  Yeah! :)

Creative Tuesdays - Skyscrapers

I've decided to hop on board the bi-weekly art co-op, Creative Tuesdays.  It's a wonderful, fun co-op where a theme is provided and participants have two weeks to create a new piece of art (paint, drawing, sketching, collage, etc) based off of the theme.

This round's theme is skyscrapers which definitely challenged me to completely step outside my comfort zone.  I think it's quite magical, incorporating my signature hearts in the midnight sky for my glowing, yellow stars.

Sunday Sketches

HELLO!  It's time for another super fab week of Sunday Sketches.  We're growing and having wonderful, creative fun every single week.  How incredibly exciting!

The above peacock doodle was inspired from watching a marathon of David Tutera's, "My Fair Wedding" TV show.  If you've not yet seen this show, you must. He's an incredibly warm and talented designer.  :)

Now, off to see what everyone else has been up to.  Happy SS and don't forget to sign up for my "Name that Doggy" contest.  The deadline is Friday, March 29th.

Name that Doggy contest!

I've (accidentally) created a new character while doodling last night.  Per a lovely friend and follower on my Facebook page, he's now officially been converted to a 4x6 greeting card. You can purchase this little guy here.  :)

With that said, I'm pretty sure he's going to become a regular character.  Therefore, I've decided to hold a contest - "Name that doggy Contest".

Here are the rules:
For each step you complete below, your name will be dropped into the drawing hat.  Make sure to leave me a link to your page, should you post an announcement there so I know to give you the extra name count.

1.  Leave a comment on this post with a name you feel fits the little doggy above.
2.  Post this on your blog, linking back to mine, announcing the contest.

Note:  It doesn't have to start with a "B".  Any name is fine, as I can change his dog collar.  :)

PRIZE:  A box filled with misc goodies such as art supplies, chocolates and your own original doodle of the doggy above.

So, have at it and SPREAD THE NEWS!

Deadline:  Friday, March 29th by 5:00pm MST.

Sunday Sketches

I've been working on this little girl off and on the past few months and have finally reached a point where I think she's ready to send to the printer.  She reminds me so much of my grandmother and all of the wonderful nights spent with her as a little girl.

Happy SS to all of my wonderful peeps!  I look forward to making rounds and seeing what everyone else has been up to.  :)

Paint Party Friday

I've spent the last two weeks now, recovering from a severe case of bronchitis as well as a torn muscle and dislocated ribs from the severe coughing spells.  Ugh.  Let me tell you just HOW miserable I've been.  No school.  No work.  NO ART!!  :(

Today is my first day up and about, just a little, trying to get some fresh air and doodle.  Please enjoy the two sketches above.  The first one is some doodles I did on a Starbucks napkin and the second, another sketch for my independent study at school.

I SO miss everyone out here in the bloggie world, along with just being creative and artsy!

Sunday Sketches & serious recovery

It's been an extremely long week here in my cozy end of the world as I've been on a long battle of recovery with my health since last Sunday afternoon.  By the time Monday morning came around, I found myself sitting in the local ER, waiting to be treated.   Two hours later, I was sent home with a prescription for a strong cough medicine in hand.  That was it!

Two days later, I visited my family medical doctor only to be diagnosed with bronchitis and severely injured ribs/muscles from violent coughing spells.  Since then, I've been confined to bed, struggling to recover and regain my strength.  Let me tell you, it's not been a pleasant journey at all!

Tonight (Saturday), is the first day I've been able to sit up fully on the sofa to read, write, etc.  It's been nice but I can tell I still have several more days of recovery to follow.  But, I'm here and hoping everyone else is doing well.

Please enjoy the first perspective sketch above, for my independent study at school.

Sunday Sketches

Hello and welcome to Sunday Sketches!  This is our little place to share sketches, doodles, paintings and piece of our creative heart.  :)

Above is a replica of a previous sock monkey sketch, only this time, I added little pink roses to the mix with a black-lined border.  This little guy is off to a special girl!

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to.  There's a lot of the flu and bad colds going around and I'm definitely trying to fight it off here, cozied up on the sofa.
