Scribble Picnic (How To Straighten Curls)

This week's Scribble Picnic theme, CURLS, took me back to my more preferred illustration style and I love it! Yesterday, Louise wasn't too thrilled with her wonky, curly hair. Ha! Ha! Today, she's discovered the perfect book to help her get a more straightened look. As you can see, her woodland friends have happily picked out their favorite "how to" books as well. (wink)

So, off they go, books in hand, to join us this week at Michael's picnic! Save us some apple pie, please!

  3. I love that all the creatures have their little books too! :) So funny how, when I was that age, I had perfectly straight hair and how every person with curly hair wished their hair to be as straight while I coveted their flowing curls. . . which led to a teen perm. . . which led to me never wanting curly hair again. . . so I settled for new hair colors instead!! lol

  4. Love, love, love this one Alexandra! She's adorable and reminds my so much of my naturally curly, red haired friend of 40 years - Elinor! I've always wanted her hair - sadly mine is dead straight!
The book titles are so funny too! My squirrels need to read that book - they are eating hickory nuts all day long now and should probably be storing them for winter.

Lovely piece - colorful, fun, and with so many little extra touches such as the plants and toadstools - love it all.
    Hugs - Mary

  6. oh my, she's a darling girl. love her curls and her striped stocking and her curly patterned dress. I hope Louise's only going to read the book and not try to uncurl her curls, it would be a shame. great take on the theme.

    have a lovely day.

  11. I really have to chuckle at the squirrel's book in particular. Too funny. It's a lovely, light hearted piece and goes more into the story of curly hair vs only showing it. I love how you;ve rendered it too. Thank you so much for taking all that time to create this beauty. :)
