Shhhh.....it's late here at Scribble Picnic and I fear little Thomas has already fallen asleep. He had his piece of pumpkin pie that Wanda brought and a cup of tea. He's now curled up in bed under the blankets with his stuffed teddy, sleeping away and dreaming of his favorite Autumn days at his grandma's house.
Here's to hoping each of you had a wonderful afternoon at Michael's picnic this week. I'm hoping next week, I can join everyone a bit earlier than today.
Awww... this is so cute and your write up perfect again too! Haha, I LOVE how Thomas enjyed some pie from WANDA! i mean, who else could it be? Perfect. I love how you incorporate the picnic in these posts.
ReplyDeleteYou art itself her is super impressive too --it's not easy to imagine such an angle like this but you've nailed it. I just noticed the lamp! Love it. And that teapot :)

ReplyDeleteAwww that you, Sandy. :)
DeleteWhat an adorable scene and the write-up was just perfect! Your illustrations just keep getting better and better, Alexandra. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteI've always found it interesting that, when we lived in Wyoming for 18 months, Americans seemed big into their sweet pumpkin pies, around Thanksgiving particularly, but they cringed at the thought of having pumpkin as a cooked veggie on their dinner plates. I wonder if all Americans think like that? In Australia, pumpkin is a staple veggie all year round...usually roasted or boiled as an addition to a hot lunch or dinner. Funnily enough, I only see pumpkin as a savoury and I cringe at the thought of sweet pumpkin pie...(no offence intended, Wanda). I just find it so interesting how different cultures view things differently.
I like that his teddy, & polka dot pjs, such a sweet image.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
I can see why you are so good at children's books. You can tell a complete story with one picture and you tell the story like every child loves to hear it. And, Alexandra, it is pumpkin pie time of the year and my mouth is watering. This is so very, very cute ...
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From the Sol

The bed with the fluffy pillows sure looks comfy.
