Anyway, I don't draw cats often so thought it would be fun to illustrate one this week, incorporating my love for potted plans with it. He turned out quite cute, I must say. What do you think? Do you have cats? Any favorites?

Such a cute sketch! Congrats to Lisa!
ReplyDeleteMost adorable cat ever. We had a favorite cat years ago named Rustina. She looked just like your kitty. We miss her.
ReplyDeleteLove your cat :) And understand your situation. My daughter wanted to ride on horses and came home just like what you describe. No animals around her and she was devastated.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week. Your cat won´t make you sick :)
So sorry I missed the Sunday Sketches anniversary week but big Congratulations to Lisa on winning the Giveaway...WHOO HOO!
ReplyDeleteYour cat and potted plant illustration is adorable, Alexandra! I never really had much to do with cats growing up. My parents were not cat people so I think I'm more of a dog person by default because we always had dogs in the family when we were growing up. Such a shame you were allergic to cats though. I would have cried too.
On another note, just letting you know that the link you have provided for the 'NEW Sunday Sketches button' in this post is an old one and it goes to a 'This page does not exist' page.
Happy Sunday Sketches! :)
I love cats ... I have four so I am bordering on the "crazy cat lady" syndrome :) Our cats are all rescues, not from a shelter but from strays that have been dumped in our neighborhood by people who don't care or people who couldn't take care of them anymore. Two were actually born in my closet ... the mother was a rescue and we found her and one brother a home. My neighbor and I have placed multiple cats after we had them checked out and spayed or neutered which ever was required. It is ongoing as we live in a unincorporated area where people feel safe dumping their cats ... and dogs , sadly :( Anyway, three of my kitties look like your drawing so I am drawn to it ... Love all your artwork.

Very sweet, I love the expression on the cat's face, so bright and full of Spring cheer!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks so much! What a wonderful surprise! I'll write to you via your contact form. I love your kitty art, I also love cats but am allergic to them...
ReplyDeleteHe looks so sweet sitting beside the flower pots. Its a beautiful sketch. We have only ever had one cat, it is dogs for us. The cat however was quite a character and often brought unwanted gifts home... Mice and birds... don't get upset they were always alive and caused endless problems getting them out of the house.

Oh another adorable illustration ~ love the kitty ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Week ahead ~ ^_^
hubby is allergic and the dog hates cats. i don't mind cats, but prefer dogs, not so snobby :p
ReplyDeleteI love your kitty illustration, Alexandra, and congratulations to Lisa!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! A ginger kitty like my Jingles who will be 13 next month. I always had cats and dogs growing up. My oldest boy is 21 and even though Jingles is his cat that we got from a friend of his when he was in 3rd grade, since he went away to college, he's actually become allergic. He figured it out the first time he came back for winter break and had some outbreaks when he would play with cats that belong to his college friends. Very strange since he grew up with Jingles for many years. Now when he's home, he limits time with her. :(
ReplyDeleteThis is such a charming spring illustration! I love it so much to see the cute cat in the midst of all the beautiful pot plants. WONDERFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lisa!! I love your drawings! I am sorry you are allergic to cats! I love cats! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello Alexandra, thanks so much for visiting my blog. I really love your beautiful art - full of life, colour and fun. I especially enjoy seeing those pretty pot plants. Cheers now :D)

ReplyDeleteLove your cat! So adorable. How awful about your allergy! That's not fair. I'm a cat person too, and I'm hoping to have one again once day.
