I'm joining in for the first time on the
WOYWW - exciting and fun!
Above is what's on my work desk today - princess bears in the making for a special little girl. This is another project that's a bit outside of my comfort zone but I'm liking it and amazed at the (art) confidence it's building.
How often do you put yourself outside of YOUR comfort zone?
Happy Wednesday! :)
Oh this is so lovely..how accessible and attractive your art is! How often am I outside my comfort zone? Rarely!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to WOYWW, hope to see more of you!
Love Princess Bear...very cute... Um comfort zone, I look at it and just think get on with it...what's the worse that can happen... I think it's an age thing...I'm hitting 50 in two years and well, it's now or never... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting to watch; seeing you challenge yourself and grow. Love the colors and the stories you are beginning to tell. In answer to your question: daily! Every time I pick up my pencil or digital stylus I am out of my comfort zone, filled with doubt and negative self-talk that I still struggle to set aside.
ReplyDeleteWow Lovely!
ReplyDeleteQuickly watching all those lovely desks!!
Have a happy WOYWW Wednesday :)))
Watch mine too, I've an awesome announcement on my BLOG(click)
Hugs Marleen ;-)

lovely princess bears...and I hate stepping outside of my comfort zone although in the end it's good for us! Good question and good for you!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and special! I try to challenge myself all the time! Actually, lately, the 13 Goddesses challenge has been really challenging me ;o) Take Care ;o)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to WOYWW! Thanks for visiting! The cans for my Copic markers are Crystal light containers with the wrappers removed and then rubber banded together. They are perfect because the lid still fits with the pens inside so that I can travel with them! Love your painting. It is fabulous! The bear is adorable. -Amanda #39

ReplyDeleteWOYWW is full of surprises - you never quite know what's going to turn up!!
ReplyDeleteYour watercolours are so pretty, I could never paint like that. I sew and do fabric crafts as I have no patience whatsoever and need instant gratification!
Hugs, LLJ #26 xx
What a lovely illustration, I am now wondering what it is for. Maybe next week you can reveal it all, please.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Hugs, Neet x #19
What a gorgeous picture, so bright and colourful. I seem to be out of my comfort zone all the time lately. I can paint but I am trying to make cards and use water colour and inks, so not normal for me. Scary but fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my blog,am sure you will join in again, your pic is fab, have a great week,x
ReplyDeleteYou are on fire!! These recent illustrations are wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! Love the poodle can can...and your princess bear is super sweet sleeping in her room. I give you lots of credit for pushing yourself and going outta the comfort zone. For art, I try to do this for every project that comes along..push a little harder with a background or an expression..or try to be "looser" with my tendency to overthink or paint things. I am so thankful for your lovely support with my work and am rooting for you, you know that! : )
ReplyDeleteOh my! I love those pictures! I could write a book to go with your images, they conjure up such magical thoughts for me.
ReplyDeleteWelcome...those princess bears are just fabulous. I am not talented like that at all. I can see talent here, girl! You should be illustrating children's books.
ReplyDeleteI’m out of my comfort zone from the time I get up until the time I go back to bed, lol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture. The girl is going to be thrilled with the bright colourful bear.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good week (what’s left of it)
Happy Crafting!

Hello! That picture is lovely, fab colours. Hey ho it's Friday but I'm still snooping the WOYWW desks & loving every minute of it! Take care Zo xx 33
ReplyDeleteWelcome to WOYWW, and thanks for stopping by my blog this week!
ReplyDeleteWell, if this is out of your comfort zone, you should do it more often... how are you at drawing dragons? (T'other half has a book in mind and we need an illustrator!).
Your art is gorgeous, and so very fresh and child friendly. Fab!
My comfort zone - nope, rarely out of it unless I'm working on something huge, name scenery for pantos and the like. To totally get me out of my CZ, you'd have to stick me in a room with a bunch of artists, stick a paintbrush in my hand, and make me do a life drawing - I can't draw people for toffee!
Thanks for stopping by! I'll leave a comment on your site, too. :)
DeleteI appreciate your sweet comment. Thank you. I've not drawn dragons before but would love the opportunity!!
Also...it appears I should've not even participated in WOWW, as it seems to be for stampers...something I'm not. Oops. I didn't realize that until I saw the icon on your sidebar this morning. Sorry!
I always say that those of us who can't paint, stamp! You don't need to master stamping at all!! And I think you're doing brilliantly for being out of your comfort zone. Love the coneflowers you posted today too. And welcome, btw. Unfortunately we paid a heavy price yesterday evening for our unseasonal warm weather in the form of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes!

I seem to be outside my comfort zone more and more these days. Trying to get that mica powder project sorted was the latest one. It is good to push yourself. now that you are getting confident with those bears, have a go at decoupage - it can be very satisfying. Thank you for your visit today. Have a good week. xx Maggie #17
ReplyDeleteHi again Sophia!
ReplyDeleteGosh - don't worry about not being a stamper, it really is a case of what's on your workdesk, not what craft/creativity you do. Yes, a lot of us are stampers, but there's also an awful lot who do other hobbies - Twiglet, Wipso and Lunch Lady Jan are needlewomen/seamstresses, and Peggy Aplseeds and Doone (Donna Louise Rodgers) are both artists like yourself! So please, keep joining in, because we love to see beautiful creativity, in whatever form it takes. I'll be emailing you soon with a couple of picture ideas....
I love your little bear painting and so glad you decided to join WOYWW - we are a great mix of craftyness so don't worry about not being a stamper... many of us aren't.
