It's a miracle!!! Actually, it's an octopus which I barely squeezed in on this first (and brand new) round of Scribble Picnic. Yay for me! I've worked all day on this little illustration. In fact, this is my second attempt at painting the current theme. If you take a peek above, you can see where I started (top right) all the way through to where it was completed this evening. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll reply as quickly as I can.
Enjoy! I'm off to see what everyone else came up with over on Michael's blog.
Alexandra this is sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful take on the theme for this week, Alex! I love it! I wonder what the message in the bottle says. hehe Nice touch! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I can't really enter you into the drawing but you woudl get the max amount too you know! As it is, Smoots, this is incredible! I love seeing it finished and super appreciate YOUR enthusiasm to get this new co-op launched, even participating and so deligently too. You really did work on this all day! i coulnd't believe you folded up the first one and redid it jsu tto eliminate that sand. Amazing but wow, it does look more dynamic. I know this pushed you too, in that it's not the kind of scene you would normally depict but I think it is fab. Love the octo, the way you painted the water, the dots and bubbles, etc. It all came together sooo well. Thank you so much. Love it. I hope everyone else sees it and visits you for all the effort you put into it. It really shines! :)
ReplyDeleteThis little scene you've created is so colorful and full of fun. It really made me smile. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLove how bright this is, and every little detail is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteA lovely underwater scene Alexandra. Is that a bottle of tonic your octopus is holding as your picture certainly lifts the spirits.
ReplyDeletethis is so wonderful! & I like that is in a circle, like a round aquarium. seeing the other version, I sort of like the pink version slightly more but not much.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Beautiful as always. You make such interesting scenes. I love the details and the circle and the orange and blue together. <3
ReplyDeleteJust stunning! So it looks like you decided against the sandy floor beneath him, is that correct? I do prefer the beautiful blue water completely surrounding the little octopus - it makes him really pop! Also makes me wonder... did he find the message in the bottle? Or is he delivering it to a nearby beach? So fun!
ReplyDeleteadorable!! what a friendly little guy! your perseverance paid off!
ReplyDeleteAlexandra,
ReplyDeleteIt is stunning. I can see why you are an award winning illustrator. I love it. The eyes are captivating. It wants me to go back and look again and again.
Blessings,
Janis
