Most of the time, we think of Autumn as the season that represents the end of summer. The leaves slowly die and fall to the ground. Grass that was once green, caressing the bottoms of our feet, dries and brown. The snow comes and blankets everything with it's white coat of magical wonder. Autumn - it's also the beginning of new life. It's a time of year where we learn to let go of the past and begin to focus on the future; a new year. How much more joy would we find life if we approached Autumn as a time to renew our hearts, letting go of the old and embracing change?
Autumn excites me! Life slows down and with it, a unique opportunity to embrace something new in the palm of our hands.
With that said, enjoy day 1 of my Inktober2015 contribution. If you've not heard of this, individuals are challenged to sketch something in pen every day for the month of October. I'm looking forward to all of the new illustrations that will come to life from this.

DeleteAlexandra, I absolutely adore your squirrel and your writing makes me feel so cozy I want to start a fire...in the fireplace, of course. LOL I wish I could pump out a drawing a day. I have such a difficult time getting one done in 4 days. Blessings. :-)

DeleteThis is so precious! It inspires me to get out my drawing tools and do some sketching. Fall is definitely here. We are having torrential rains and temperature in the 50s F.

DeleteI am from England and certainly there is nothing as tingly and exciting as that smell of what is it? of rotting leaves with that delicious cold nip in the air. Here on E Coast everything looks much prettier with the red maple leaves that twirl in the air.....but we still have those darn tornadoes! So I think Fall in UK is better....and winter in UK is worse it is so damp and dreadful! I love your squirrel he is all wrapped up against the elements. x

You gotto love those Starbucks cups - must be why he is holding one;-) I love Autumn... it come for me with a sense of reprieve - slowing down and recollecting myself... almost like the trees losing leaves, there is a beauty in losing excess, exposing structure, returning to simplicity...
