As you can see above, the packing has started! I must say it's exciting but also a tad overwhelming with everything Michael and I have yet to do. There's making decisions on what to keep/sell, lists of what to do before leaving the country, planning a garage sale, packing, and of course, illustration deadlines - whooweee!
It's exciting, thinking of the new adventures that lie ahead. Although the bulk of the trip is to help care for hubby's mother, there will be moments of exploring and such. This year, I'll be celebrating my birthday abroad and hopefully in the lovely village of Bath (Home of Jane Austen).
Each day will be filled with new things and I can see the excitement spilling out in to my artwork already, transforming my characters into a whole new world. I just adore the little chap above and his potted garden. Anyway, there's a lot more packing to do so I must be off for now. Be sure to join me this Sunday for my weekly art co-op, Sunday Sketches, as I plan to announce something somewhat new/fun.
wow you're moving to England??!!??
ReplyDeleteYes, I mentioned a few posts ago we're temporarily moving there to help my husband's mother.
DeleteExciting times ahead for you both, I hope all goes well for your move to your new home,
ReplyDeleteLove the sketch of the cute little guy.
Yvonne
Definitely and thank you. :)
Deletecute little chap! Moving is super stressful!
ReplyDeleteIt is and most people don't realize it until the go through the process. lol
DeleteYes! There will be a lot to do before the big move but Bath is a beautiful place. Good Luck with your packing and your deadlines.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. I appreciate it and sure hope to get to Bath! :)
DeleteReally want to go to Bath for a few days and look around at all the history :)
ReplyDeletethe art studio looks so sad empty :p
Me, too. I'll post photos if I make it there. And yes....a sad, lonely studio now. :/

Bath is an inspiring town! Among my favorites there. . . and Glastonbury which is not far from there as well if I recall. Yes, DO find time to explore and to discover the magic while there. How exciting! :) Sometimes a move, when not entirely by choice, is the best thing because the decision is, to an extent, made for you and you just have to sort of go with the flow. . . I feel like that has been true for two of the three major moves I have made in my life and both of those were/have been remarkable, each in their own myriad of ways. The one I willfully chose, or perhaps, forced is a better word for it? Not so much. lol
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I'll have to ask the hubby if he's familiar with that town at all. I do hope to make it there and explore, finding new inspiration along the way. Yes, moving is hard but thank you for the thoughts on that.
Deleteas much as i hate moving (the packing and unpacking are just awful, right?) it sure is fun to set up in a new place. especially a new town (or country!!). it's fun roaming and getting lost a bit until you get to know your way around. how are you at driving on the other side of the road??!! :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought to focus on setting up in a new place. Oh! Love that idea and gives one something to look forward to. :)
DeleteExciting times lie ahead even though I know there will be some worrying ones too surrounding Michael's Mum. I'm sure with your positive attitude, it will be a memorable and happy new phase. I love your cute illustration! All the best for what lies ahead. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely thoughts, Serena. xx
DeleteI am so excited for you I could burst. I call myself a displaced Anglophile because I would give my eft arm to give anywhere in the United Kingdom. I guess I would probably pick Ireland because of my one for my violin/fiddle and the fact that I would go in the summers to fiddle school there. Hope all goes well with Michale's Mum and that your move is as wonderful as I think it will be. Take care. We all love you. genie
ReplyDeleteThank you for your well wishes and hope to keep everyone posted on things. :)
Deletexx
Lots of excitement ahead for both you and Michael - I can't quite make out whether it is a permanent move or just a long trip - however, good luck to you both and happy days.
ReplyDeleteThere is....and hard to tame down the feelings of being overwhelmed, etc. Oh dear. lol
DeleteI would love to be moving, love my town but i am ready for a change!! Wonderfully cute little sketch!
ReplyDeleteAwwww....well, maybe you could vicariously live through me the next few months. haha :)
DeleteWishing you both, all the best!!! I love the little guy you sketched! Big Hugs and keep on smiling!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Stacey. Hugs to you as well
DeleteGood luck with the move Alexandra! I have been to Bath twice in my life and absolutely LOVE it! I hope all goes smoothly for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Wendy. I appreciate it. Gosh, I sure hope to make it to Bath! :D
