Almost every weekend, Michael and I walk through our favorite neighborhood where some of the most spectacular gardens grow. We chat about our week, our dreams and plans, and once in awhile, the fears that life can sometimes bring. It's inevitable - fear. Whether it's a new job, health issues, moving to a new home, etc - whatever life changes come our way, fear tends to creep in, intimidating one along the way.
One thing I've learned from all I've been through is that the answers we seek are often found deep within. Every difficult situation we walk through makes us stronger than the one before. It may not feel like it at times but the power to overcome the voice of fear is to reach down inside and take a hold of our inner self and trust that it truly is enough to rise above. Always believe you are strong enough to do and overcome anything.
Wise words and thoughts Alexandra♡

Beautiful post Alexandra. . . my grandmother used to always say that she admired my ability to find laughter and light no matter what the situation was. . . and that it made her feel better and stronger to have my laughter around. But I never understood it enough back then to tell her that I actually got that trait from HER. She laughed at all the small things. . . I just took it further and never worried quite as much as she did about the big things. Or my grandfather who took everything in life on such an even keel. Strong, silent, the rock of our family. From him I learned that the best way to keep the course is to simply take it one day at a time and keep moving forward no matter how hard life hits. The routines and the little things are the anchors. And on the other side of it there is my mother, who never took a single unnecessary risk in her life out of the paralyzing fear born of the all-to familiar shadow of "scarcity", but who, thru that example, taught me to never fear. And somewhere between, the ability to have faith, not in everything "working out" but in knowing we can and will bounce back, find resilience and overcome each trial, was born. Now, because life IS cyclical, I know all of these things; fear, scarcity, trial and tribulation, will all rear their head again and again in every life. . . and each is indeed an opportunity to grow, to strengthen our resolve and to find our deepest trust and faith within again and again.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspired thoughts and beautiful expression. . . : )
Nicolas, thank you so much for your wonderful comment and taking the time to do so. I felt like I was there with you in every moment you shared of your family. What beautiful memories to have and lessons to have learned along the way. I think my grandparents (my father's side) were the key people in my life growing up. I never had the opportunity to know my mother's father and because her mother lived so far away, I met her at my high school graduation. Sadly, my life wasn't quite the "Little House on the Prairie" type - lots of tragedy and sadness but through it all, I found my way in and out. Your grandfather sounds a lot like my father's dad. I have some very fond memories of siting with him on the edge of the bed in the room off of their living room, listening to blue grass on 8-track tapes! (Wow, do those even exist anymore?!)
DeleteThank you for sharing a part of your life and heart. Wishing you a wonderful week!
beautiful photo :)
ReplyDeletethe old cliche of what ever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger come to mind :)
Thank you, Jennifer. Some of my favorite flowers. And yes, wise words. :)
DeleteWonderful post, Alexandra. You have proven in the years I've known you that you faith is deep and your trust in yourself is growing. You have accomplished so much and the Lord's blessings are on you. I know whatever the future holds you will find joy and blessing and open doors to even grow stronger.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading Nicolas's comment. Some more wisdom there. Laughter is the best medicine...the Bible says so.
Yes, you're absolutely correct, the trust in myself is definitely growing. It helps that I have someone by my side who truly believes in me and supports me in all I do! Love you.

ReplyDeleteExcellent! Yes! Fear, is what mixes us all up! It's what creates all the bad stuff, negativity, depression, anxiety, etc. When we let fear go, it is so good! Fear means False Evidence Appearing Real! Big Hugs!
