WOYWW - Independent Study

I've been bombarded with homework this week.  It has been utterly crazy!  From tests, to speeches, an 18x24 sketch and now a full report due for my Psychology class.   Uh huh.  In the meantime, I'm throwing in a few doodles here and there, warming up to dive back into a few big art projects on my plate needing to be completed.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week.  I'm enjoying all of the snow we've had here in Colorado over the weekend.

Sunday Sketches

It's time for another round of Sunday Sketches and I'm so glad you've joined us this week!  We're continuing to grow leaps and bounds here and it's been absolutely delightful!  :)

Above is a replica of a painting I designed and put together earlier last year.  I've had alot of compliments on my purple cone flowers.  Here's hoping that next week I'll start revealing sketches from my independent study artwork from school.

Today's blessing - Art with 4th and 5th grade girls

I had one of the most amazing times in my life today - teaching art to a group of 4th and 5th grade girls. What a wonderful opportunity to provide tips, guidance and wisdom to each group of girls designing their own T-shirts.  It was really a blessing to see their faces light up and their hearts filled with excitement, as they learned how to improve the brilliant designs they'd already started.  Hee

At the end of class, several of them were hanging on my arm, telling me how much they loved me and begging for my return.  Awww.  I look forward to my next session with them!  :)

Swirls of Emotion

There's a cool breeze fluttering its way across my left shoulder as I sit here at the airport terminal waiting for that special someone to arrive; swirls of emotion are flying around inside my heart.

People come and go.  Some greet others with flowers, hugs, kisses - at times, even tears. Others walk away with no one on their arm or by their side.  I can't help but wonder what their story is.  I bet they wonder the same of me, sitting here in a black airport chair, pecking away on my little laptop, and occasionally looking up at the massive white, peaked roof overhead.

Doodling amidst studies

It's been a long two weeks and the first exam of this semester is quickly approaching.    It's proving to be another tough semester, but I'm pushing through and studying my toosh off!

So, before I put my nose in the books to study for my first exam, let me share with you the above doodle I quickly tossed to a piece of scrap paper.  As always, in a cozy corner of my favorite coffee shop with a perfect hot cuppa of Earl Grey tea.

Teaching Art to Children

This post is about a week or so late, but for those of you who are not yet aware, you're looking at the gal who accepted a wonderful opportunity to teach art to a group of young girls in my community. ♥

I'm really looking forward to encouraging and inspiring these gals to dream big!  I'm so appreciative to a wonderful lady in my life who's giving me this opportunity.

Sunday Sketches and Recovering

HELLO and thank you for joining us once again for another fun-filled week of sketching, paintings, doodling and whatnot.  :)

It's been a long week of recovery for me here.  Most of you know I suffered an injury almost a week ago by getting my hand slammed in the door, thus cutting it severely.  To make things worse, it's my creative hand!  Sigh.  Good news, it's healing faster than anticipated so hopefully I can be back up to full speed very soon.

In the meantime, I did attempt a few tiny doodles, despite my hand being in a brace.  It's not my best, took me more than twice as long to sketch it - but it felt good doing something creative for the first time in almost a week.  :)

So, now I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to.  Happy SS!
