Sunday Sketches Apology

Please forgive me as I totally  dropped the ball here.  With all of the moving going on the past couple of days, I completely lost track what day it was.  As I sat down on the sofa a few moments ago (to put together a Sunday Sketches post!) it hit me that TODAY is Sunday, not tomorrow!!  Ugh!

I do hope you can forgive me and promise to get back into the swing of things this week.

WOYWW - Moving = Doodling!

Just a really quick update that I'll be away from the desk for a day or two whilst I finish packing to move.  I hope it's a short time away and will be thinking of all my wonderful, lovely peeps out here.

So, enjoy the mess above, including my messy workspace now sitting in the middle of my living room.  My paints are packed so only supplies for doodling right now.

I'm posting this early for WOYWW as I'm not sure I'll be able to get online tomorrow.  Hopefully, someone will see this and add my name to the linky list!  :)

Sunday Sketches

Hello and WELCOME to another wonderful week of art doodles and what nots!  This week's post is going up a little early as I've a long "to do" list for my upcoming relocation.

Above is another watercolor card painted last week that sold the following day!  Woot!  I do hope you enjoy this lovely piece.

With the studio in the process of moving this week, I'm left with just the bare necessities for doodling and such between now and then. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things after the move.

Happy SS!

WOYWW - It's a beautiful day!

Still pushing through some hurt and loss this early morning but determined to rise up and beyond.  I know my father would want me to do that.

Thank you for all of your love and support.  It means alot, as a person and artist, to be real with you on this every day journey of life!

Tell me, what do you do to bring comfort to your heart in such difficult times?

This is my completed watercolor rose painting and I'm submitting it this week for WOYWW.

My creative heart cries...

Most of you know that I lost my father just 7 months ago to a horrible battle of cancer.  Today is his birthday; he would've been an incredible young 64. I still feel this huge loss and grief as if it were just yesterday.  I miss him terribly and long to hear his voice.

It's been a struggle at times, wanting to celebrate things such as scholarship awards, my first art showing, etc.  Too often I pick up the phone to call him, forgetting for a brief moment, he's no longer here.  My head drops and tears begin to fall uncontrollably.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear daddy,

My heart aches without you here by my side but oh so grateful that our relationship was made whole before you left this world.

Happy birthday, father!

Love,
"Your precious daughter"

Please visit my Blue Chair Diary Illustrations Facebook page for more wonderfully captured photos of the event.

Happy SS to all my lovely peeps!

My flower garden - PPF

Just a quick snapshot of some WIP watercolor cards that I started yesterday.  I'm quite excited at how they're unfolding, especially since this is the first time I've attempted to paint roses.  And of course, I couldn't leave out my favorites - poppies!

Anyway...here's my flower garden for this cloudy, rainy Friday.

Happy PPF to all of my wonderful peeps!  :)

Sunday Sketches - ready to go!

Hello and welcome to another wonderful week of sketches, doodles and what nots! Yeah!  :)

Above is another card I've recently designed and painted (watercolor, of course).  I thought this was very fitting with all the changes and going on my life lately. I'm looking forward to the new journey with my wonderful friend, J, in a different, cozy town.  She's a sweet pea and I'm excited for what lies ahead for us both.

Until next time, are you "...ready to go?"  :D

Feelin' Groovy - WOYWW

Well, I haven't exactly been feelin' groovy the past few days, but I'm sitting up today with a bit more strength than yesterday.  So thankful that this cold/bug seems to finally be passing to where I can once again push forward on art deadlines.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I'm submitting this for the weekly WOYWW.  I'm running behind but hopefully the gals will still pop in!  :)

A sneak peek of the final steps!

I'm absolutely delighted and thrilled to be having my very first showing.  Above are the final stages this morning, prior to things going "live".

Stay tuned for more photos and a special thank you to the bookstore, as well as others who assisted in these preparations and helped make a dream come true.  Uh huh.  Rock on!  :)
