The reinvention of Daily Life

Routines. We all have them. Some we follow every day for years. Others, come and go, depending on life circumstances. For us, we reinvented our daily life routine when moving here to England back in July. It wasn't easy at first, but we certainly did it and I'm in love with that (new) routine! I love our early morning walks down to the coffee shop where we cozy up with lattes in hand, catching up from the day before and all that lies ahead for the day at hand. Bliss. Utter bliss to have that needed and wanted time with my husband - a man in whom I've had the opportunity to learn even more about while tucked away in Northern Yorkshire with him and his family over these past few months. He's an angel and he's my rock.

In less than a week we're returning home and are faced with reinventing that daily life routine once again. Add to that, other new things as well. Such as, a new home. Although we absolutely loved our darling yellow town-home where we built many memories together as a couple, with the kids and our friends, we made a tough decision before leaving the states to leave it behind. We'll be building new, cherished memories in a new home - and that's OK! We're looking forward to reuniting with our family and friends, meeting our new neighbors, cuddling our 3-week old grand-babies...and more! Life is filled with adventures and changes. Embracing them is the best thing we can do. Finding ways to reinvent daily life when those changes come allows us to always find joy in the journey.

  5. I think it's an inherent part of life that our routines shift and change with us and the way you embrace the changes and adapt is a big part of the truth of happiness. I hope, when you return, you and Michael will find time to create new routines together that can be a foundation for the days to come back here in the states. Simple joys and quiet moments. . . how very often we don't allow for them in these modern days of go go go. . . But how very integral they are to true peace and contentment as well. :)

  6. Alexandra, I still miss the house I raised my daughter in. I would so love to move back into town. This farm life is rough as I get older. LOL. Speaking of getting older...I can not believe you have a grandchild. :) You will truly enjoy loving on the new baby. I wish you a great life in your new home. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. Hello! I am now your newest follower. Thank you for dropping by to visit me! My daughter, Amber, lived in Scotland for a year and we went to stay for the entire month of December 2009. She and I have both been to London a few times and we so love it!!
A new grand baby! Did I read it right that you have 3 week old GRANDBABIES? As in more than one? My daughter has 4 year old quadruplets so my ears perked right up at the thought you might be a grandmother to multiples!
So good to 'meet' you and I look forward to visiting often!

    1. Hi Linda! So lovely to have you follow along my blog. I enjoyed visiting you and look forward to getting to know you. Sounds like we have some similarities. Hee Yes, I'm only 45 but already a grandma to twins! Jason Shad and Marina Belle. Adorable babies.

My husband is from London (Earls Court area) and it's been wonderful being here the past few months to be with his family and also help in transitioning his mother to a care home. It hasn't been easy for either him or his sister but it was needed. Chat more soon! :) x
