Sunday Sketches: Floral Patterns

This week, I played with some floral patterns that have been floating around in my creative mind for the past 6 months or more. It's one of those ideas I hope to transition into wallpaper and/or material at some point in time. Of course, it's on my list of, "Wouldn't that would be awesome to do one day?!" (Raise your hand if you've got one of those mile long lists on your desk?)

Anyway, I utilized my new Tombow brushes again, exploring the combination of colors and layers in each illustration. They need a lot of fine tuning but at least my ideas are now down on paper. I'd love to hear your thoughts and any ideas you might have for the above drawings or future ones.

I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to this past week. Happy Sunday Sketches!

  1. I think it's important to have a "Wouldn't that be awesome to do one day" list. I have one too.
I can picture the designs you did on soft cotton fabric, maybe for a toddler's dress. Now that they are down on paper, it's one step closer to bringing the ultimate goal to fruition.

  6. My 'wouldn't that be awesome to do one day list' actually lives in my head, but maybe I should write it down, it is getting long and longer.
I like you fresh, spring feel of the top and the warm, summer one at the bottom. I agree with Laurie, girls' summer dresses is what I kept thinking.
    Happy Sunday!

  9. i agree with Laurie...this would be so pretty as material for summer clothes! So pretty.

I'm like you, I have a long list of things I want to do and try and learn. Mine isn't really a list...but a bunch of post-it notes!! Every time I think of something new, I add it to the every growing post-it note wall!
