Sunday Sketches

This is a tribute I've been wanting to paint for quite some time for my father.  It will be 24 months soon, since daddy passed.  My heart is still very sad.  Sigh.

In August of last year, I was taken to my first Blind Pilot concert for my birthday to help create a new, happy memory to ease the pain of his death (as I last saw him on my birthday the year before and just a few months before his death). It truly was THE BEST GIFT ever and I'm forever grateful to this FAB guy (left), Israel Nebeker and the band, in making it extra special for me.  They helped me create a happy memory for my birthday every year and for that, I'm grateful.  :)

Happy SS!  Wishing you a bright and beautiful day!

  3. Very nice tribute. You use Sakura Koi Watercolors too? I have these that I got from Amazon (used these with a Moleskine Watercolor). I'm not exactly fond of watercolor, well I am, when I choose to be! I'm actually pretty bad at it.

  14. Thanks for hosting Sunday Sketchers, I enjoy seeing everyone's work. The years may dull the pain but I don't believe we ever get over losing our parents but you have found a wonderful way to pay tribute to your father and the life he gave you.
