I felt like I was there with you in every moment you shared of your family. What beautiful memories to have and lessons to have learned along the way. I think my grandparents (my father's side) were the key people in my life growing up. I never had the opportunity to know my mother's father and because her mother lived so far away, I met her at my high school graduation. Sadly, my life wasn't quite the "Little House on the Prairie" type - lots of tragedy and sadness but through it all, I found my way in and out. Your grandfather sounds a lot like my father's dad. I have some very fond memories of siting with him on the edge of the bed in the room off of their living room, listening to blue grass on 8-track tapes! (Wow, do those even exist anymore?!)

Thank you for sharing a part of your life and heart. Wishing you a wonderful week!Alexandra MacVeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17317852980496492650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-876129775144082.post-45525934908846386902016-06-22T21:50:32.586-05:002016-06-22T21:50:32.586-05:00Awww...Christine, thank you very much! But I never understood it enough back then to tell her that I actually got that trait from HER. She laughed at all the small things. . . I just took it further and never worried quite as much as she did about the big things. Or my grandfather who took everything in life on such an even keel. Strong, silent, the rock of our family. From him I learned that the best way to keep the course is to simply take it one day at a time and keep moving forward no matter how hard life hits. The routines and the little things are the anchors. And on the other side of it there is my mother, who never took a single unnecessary risk in her life out of the paralyzing fear born of the all-to familiar shadow of "scarcity", but who, thru that example, taught me to never fear. And somewhere between, the ability to have faith, not in everything "working out" but in knowing we can and will bounce back, find resilience and overcome each trial, was born. Now, because life IS cyclical, I know all of these things; fear, scarcity, trial and tribulation, will all rear their head again and again in every life. . . and each is indeed an opportunity to grow, to strengthen our resolve and to find our deepest trust and faith within again and again.

Thank you for the inspired thoughts and beautiful expression. . . : )Nicolas Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08126974984715446831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-876129775144082.post-51239747038719065092016-06-22T07:31:47.838-05:002016-06-22T07:31:47.838-05:00I sure believe in you Alexandra, so smart and stro...I sure believe in you Alexandra, so smart and strong.
