Christmas is coming and there's no better way to celebrate than with a
Scandinavian Santa and his woodland family. Uh huh. This week's
Scribble Picnic theme was more fun than I could have ever imagined! Everyone is dressed in their favorite Scandinavian sweater, to boot!
Now that the candles are lit, we're off to
Michael's wintry picnic. It may be getting a bit chilly out but there's plenty of my
famous hot chocolate for everyone. Oh, and I also have a basket of warm, chocolate chip muffins. If you close your eyes, you'll capture the waft of that delicious smell coming up over the horizon. Mmmmmm
What a lovely idea to do a Scandinavian santa, great work Alexandra!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much, Christine! :)
DeleteThis is such a charming piece Alexandra. I love all the details, the candles are a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tammie! I decided to do the candles last minute. They really finish the piece. :)

I'm totally in love with all your woodland critters. I'm beginning to know them better with each painting. This is a darling take on the theme. So many beautiful details...and their clothes are always so cute.
ReplyDeleteI like all the red sweaters there. adorable holiday art.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Your little mice and hedgehogs are just too cute.
ReplyDeletelovely and festive :) i am always shocked people still do put candles on their tree, so dangerous eek :p
ReplyDeleteWhat more can I say other than "you're the best" Alexandra when it comes to endearing characters/creatures cavorting in Nature! Santa is precious too here - I've always loved the Scandinavian versions - you just know they don't have glued-on beards and plastic boots, only the real deal here!
ReplyDeleteFabulous - you and Michael have both done amazing art for this week's challenge XX
What a lovely write up/comment, Mary here for Alexandra. So true and well said. Thnk you.
DeleteWell, I think Mary, above, pretty much captured everything I was gogin to say. I love adore St. Nick here and those hedgehogs conversing off to the side, the tree, those amazing sweaters, etc. It not only draws one in right away but then warms one up too. I LOVE it. Thank you. Perfect for the theme. Thank you so much. I know this too ages but it shows your love of this season so well too. Oh, and btw, I think I've already had plenty of those muffins. Hee. In fact, I'm rather thinking of microwaving another and smelling those choc wafts my way again let alone that melt-in-your-mouth divine goodness. :)
