Scribble Picnic is here once again and this week we're sharing our interpretation of the theme, "potted plant". I knew fairly quickly what I wanted to illustrate and was quite excited to get started! In this scene, you'll discover I implemented two of my previously illustrated characters - Rudy and Quinton.
So, how about it? Grab your picnic basket and let's go shopping for some potted plants. Of course, Michael says I have more than enough plants in the house at the moment!
For more wonderful contributions, or to share your art of a "potted plant", hop on over to Michael's blog. It's been loads of fun picnicking with others across the world!
this is so cute especially their overalls, it just speaks of easy days & planting new things. & I like the colorful pots that holds the plants. great take on the theme.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Your little friends always make the simple theme an extraordinary story. This is so sweet.
ReplyDeletePS I'm thinking the orange pot is "rosemary"....I could smell it!
ReplyDeletevery nice piece Alexandra!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful illustration for this week's picnic, Alexandra! I love their overalls too...so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as too many plants. Do you follow @homesteadbrooklyn? Your illustration is delightful. I'd love to go plant shopping with Rudy and Quinton.
ReplyDeleteYes, the overalls seem to be quite a hit, so maybe I need you to buy me some blue striped dungarees like that too? :) Hahha. Can you imagine? no way. All this to say, I love it and as I said on your IG-- I think Rudi is fine with anything but catnip but Quinton was his pirckly plant I surmise. :) Wonderful and cost illustration here. I so love it. Thank you for taking all that time to create this. I'll swap my plant for yours. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat write up too. So fun to read! :)
ReplyDeleteYour little mice are just as cute as can be. Love their overalls and her curly hairdo. Great piece.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I love your blooming hedge.
ReplyDeleteI wish potted plants were .50!
I agree, wish potted plants were that cheap lol :) lovely illustration
ReplyDeleteOh, but think of what those plants are giving back to you. Go for it. Love this little scene. Colorful and sweet.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! It appears that the friends are having quite a time making a decision on which plant/plants to purchase.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know where Rudy and Quinton do their plant shopping, as I would scoop up many at that price of fifty cents!
We just returned from the annual Master Gardener's plant sale here so this is perfect! Is there such a thing as enough plants? I suppose and yet we keep adding in to our little collection. . . Love the overalls! We both have ours, got them through the historic railroad here in town. Now, I could never see myself in them when I was a city boy but life in the slower, small town lane makes a lot of those "fashion nevers" seem rather superfluous. Plus they're just plain fun!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - love it!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
So adorable!!
ReplyDeleteAlexandra,
ReplyDeleteDon't understand how I missed this with the potted plant? Must have been an "eye thing". Anyway trying to find you today I discovered this. It's beautiful.
Blessings
Janis
