Scribble Picnic (Cabin)

Here I am again....scrambling with my basket in hand, hoping to make the scribble picnic party this week...and I made it just in the nick of time! CABIN is this week's theme and let me tell you just  how much it kicked my butt! There were many lessons learned throughout the entire process of this piece.  At one point, everything in my 'cabin terrarium' seemed like one giant, green blob, leaving me feeling discouraged. Thankfully, hubby came to my rescue, showing me how to create more depth by balancing out my colors more and so forth. It's a beautiful, finished piece, and I couldn't be happier! And I'm really thrilled we make such a great team! (wink)

  1. You did it, smoots! Just under the wire but here it is and it looks smashing! As i said on your instagram too..but well, ok, that is not the best descriptor to use here for a glass terrarium! Hahah. Anyway, I love all the little details and how ransacked the cabin's rood tiles are too. Such a clever and unique concept! Bravo! Love it. So glad too you let me be a part of the process here and there. Waht a team indeed. I hope you know how proud I am of you when you read this in the morning! This is my last piece to visit. So glad you joined in. Thank you so much again!!

  4. Glad you snuck in under the wire dear because this is magnificent, so colorful and different.

Adore the washing on the clothes line and the twinkling string of lights. I remember when we all used to do tie backs on our curtains, now they are really only seen in a country setting along with ruffles and such! The greenery is so pretty and I love the sprigged yellow 'wallpaper' background.

Beautiful art Alex. . . . . and your team member needs to come assist me perhaps!!!!!

  10. Wow, so many details, no wonder you barely finished up in time to post! I am curious about the jar (?) just outside the door. And I half expect to see a little elf come bursting out of that door at any time.
