Sunday Sketches (Rudi longs for a home...)

I've been working on this illustration for the past few days and am finally calling it complete. It will be part of a portfolio I'm putting together representing a children's picture book I'm writing titled, "The House On Rabbit Hill".

If you'd like to see the other sketches and transition of this illustration, visit my Instagram page. You might find some other lovely posts you'll enjoy.  More soon! It's Mr. Toast's birthday weekend, so I'll be visiting on Monday.

  9. I love it! Reminds me of my favorite scene in Wind in the Willows, where Badger takes Mole and Rat in out of the snowstorm into his wonderful warm house. Sometimes I still read that passage before I fall asleep.

  11. My Granddaughter is an an animal lover and has been for as long as I can remember. At age 20 she is now in her second year of Pre Vet. I said this because her animal loving career started with "mousies" ... yes little mouse pictures in a child's book, so I immediately thought of her when I saw your picture for the week. Perhaps your new book will inspire more children to great things. Thank you, Alexandra ...
