Countdown to Christmas (Gingerbread House)

Since I was already planning on doing a gingerbread house of some sort for my daily Countdown to Christmas Illo Advent, it seemed fitting to hop on board with the current theme of hubby's bi-weekly online art co-op, Creative Tuesdays. I had so much fun illustrating this idea and am quite pleased at how it turned out. From my gingerbread house to the candy cane fence...it's perfect! Now, I must give my hand a try at a real gingerbread house for the holiday season.

For more wonderful Creative Tuesdays contributions, make sure to visit this fabulous online art co-op here.

  4. Love it! I hope you WILL try to make the real thing! I usually make a gingerbread house each year but this year we swapped that idea out for making several old-world traditional Yule treats like Cattern Cakes and St Lucia /Lucy Cats! :) I'll miss the smel of the gingerbread in the house though.

    1. I hope to but we'll see. Tonight it was baking 3 dozen oatmeal butterscotch cookies. I've still got thumb print, chocolate chocolate chip, double layer red velvet cake and a yule log! Oy! lol Thank you for sharing your family traditions. I love picturing you and your family cosied up in your home celebrating Christmas together. :)

  7. Wow, smoots. You knocked this out for six! I love it. It is amazing. Love the string, the dome, the details and ..well, it all. :) I notice too how you broke up the line on the edges of the glass which really helps it seem reflective. Great job! Thank you for adding this to CT, no less! All the more publicity. :)
