I've not done much art this past week due to taking a break from actual art work since my recent illustrated children's book has been completed. It's available on both Barnes & Noble, as well as Amazon. I plan to take the remainder of the year off and a few months into the new year, to simply settle back in to our (new) home in Colorado, unpack, cuddle the puppy and visit with friends and family we've not seen since earlier this summer.
With that said, happy Sunday Sketches! I'm off to rest more as I've not felt well off and on the past few days. I promise to visit everyone when able.

It is a blessing that you were able to leave your world to care for his mother ... certainly no regrets could be had and hopefully all is well. Another move , being tired and not feeling well. Good reason to take a break (if you can call moving a break). I hope this doesn't mean you won't be doing Sunday Sketches as I have just found you and have only just begun to enjoy you and your art. I looked for your book on Amazon and it wasn't there ... I will try again, but you may want to check it out :)Rest and fell better ...

Hi Andrea, yep, I'll still be doing Sunday Sketches every week. Just taking a break from major art projects to rejuvenate my creative spirit and settle in back at home. ;)
DeleteGlad you were able to find the link for Ladybug! And WELCOME!!
xx
Never mind ... I went on Amazon just now and it was there. I am buying it for my best friend's granddaughters ... they will love it. Thank you :)

cute sketch Alexandra, I was thinking your time in England was coming to an end soon, it does seem fast.
ReplyDeleteOn my, I hope you start to feeling better real soon. Yes, it seems as if your time has flown by from this end of the world. I am so glad that you were able to go England with Michael to help care for his Mom. I am sure she has appreciated him being there, especially his sister must have been glad for the help. Love your illustration here and I am glad that you are now, going to take a little break. You deserve it!! have a wonderful new week!!! and congratulations again, on your book!!!
ReplyDeletewow...your time in England has flown by! enjoy your break from art for a while. it will be good to recharge yourself a bit.
ReplyDeleteOh I so love your fox. It is incredibly darling. I hope you feel better soon and I'm glad you were able to accomplish so much during your trip.
ReplyDeletelike your fox :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the book and that everything with your husbands mother seem to work out well. Take care.
Its a beautiful sketch. Your time in the UK ha flown by so quickly. Hope you feel better soon.

I love Foxy Loxy Alexandra... he's gorgeous. Sorry to hear that you are still feeling unwell, but you have had a lot to deal with over the last few months. It's not surprising that you feel you need a break. I can't believe that you've only got four weeks left in the UK. Mind due considering the weather we've had for the last three days I'm think I'd like to be going somewhere else! We've been living in a cloud which isn't conducive to feel good factors.
ReplyDeleteWhat you and Michael have done is so similar to what's happening in our family at the moment. My hubby is helping his sister to care for his Mum. Unfortunately, we just lost his Dad last week... just two days after his 90th Birthday... but he just slipped away during the night.
Take care and congratulations on completing your book.
I'm off to have a look. Thanks for hosting the link up too :D
You will be glad to get home to your regular life and your puppy, but I know your husband and his family appreciates all you have done to make this easier for them.
ReplyDeleteoh, and the fox is super adorable.
ReplyDeleteHi! Love your fox
ReplyDeleteDoes Michael like Marmite? I heard the prices of Marmite have skyrocketed at Tescos due to Brexit :)
Love the fox - love the inspiration to get back to sketching. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely sketch, Alexandra! It's wonderful that you were able to relocate temporarily to help out and it also gives Michael some special time with his Mum. Rest up and feel better soon. xo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing your book! You must feel very fulfilled. But after all the hours spent in the making of it, taking some time off sounds like a good idea.
ReplyDeleteTime goes by too fast! I love your fox! I don't blame you to relax for the rest of the year! I am so proud of you and your book! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI just realized I never returned to comment on your post. Your fox is awesome and I love your plan to take off a few months after your very busy recent times.
