Sunday Sketches (From England)

A lot has been going on here this past week. Between caring for Michael's mother, helping with chores around the house and catching up on book illustrations, this weekend has been welcomed with open arms. I've been working diligently the past 3-4 days to complete the last few illustrations for my latest book, "Ladybug! Ladybug!", and you don't want to miss it! As you can see above, it's going to be a darling children's book - this one filled with various charming poems about ladybugs. So, keep an eye out for the release date!

Until then, please do keep Michael and his sister in your thoughts as the last few days have been quite challenging with their mother. Thus, making it a bit hard on them both emotionally. Here's a little photo I was able to capture last week before things started going downhill quite a bit these past few days.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. Happy Sunday Sketches and I'll catch up with everyone very soon. It will be lovely to see what each of you have been up to this past week.

  1. Alex, that's such a sweet photo of Michael and his mum. Tell him I'm thinking of him and wishing him well - I know it's not easy at this point in time for all of you.

    Your book will be adorable.
Hugs to you both - Mary (off to Africa Monday!)

  6. Gorgeous illustration Alexandra... I mean who doesn't love a ladybird (bug)?
Good luck with the book launch.
I will certainly keep your family in my thoughts because we have a similar thing happening with my hubby's mother and father.
I lost my father when I was 16 and my mother a few years ago... but it is so heartbreaking to watch parents decline. It's a beautiful photograph, so well done you for capturing the moment. Try to relax and enjoy your weekend... it sounds like you've had quite a week!

    1. Thank you very much for your lovely comment and encouragement! And we appreciate your thoughts during this time. As you know, it's not easy and it comes with ups and downs. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your father at such a young age. I lost my father about 4 years ago and thought that was too young to die! So sad. Sending you hugs!
