Sunday Sketches (From England)

It's hard to believe the week is over and it's time for another round of Sunday Sketches - let alone week 4! Good golly, Molly! We're still getting acclimated with the area and settling in as much as we can. Yesterday, I shared with you my temporary studio until our actual home is ready to move in to here. It's quite cozy and a lovely view!

Today, although not feeling well, I ventured off to potter around at a church stitching event and then lunch at the Raven Hall Hotel. Let me tell you what incredible views it had! (As you can see above) The hotel in an 18th-century Victorian building is set in North York Moors National Park and overlooks Robin Hood's Bay.

Of course, with all of the wind and rain here the past few days, nothing seemed more fitting than an illustration featuring a darling girl wearing her favorite scarf and jumper! I wonder if she'll let me borrow her scarf?!  :)

  1. Oh your sweet girl looks cold! We are still having heat waves in Toronto. That's a beautiful view of the bay.

  4. Oops I'm sorry that my email for warmer weather for you mustn't have got through to the right channels, but hey fresh... FRESH air will hopefully make you feel better soon. My Grandmother swore by breathing in good clean air!
Gorgeous view and what a cute illustration. She looks suitably cozy for such conditions.
I'm so happy to hear that you are loving the history here.

  7. The little girl captures the weather you're having so perfectly. I love the green landscape of rural England, with the darker green of the hedges running through it. It's a magical place.

  12. I do hope you're feeling better today. . . was it too many red velvet cupcakes that were the culprit? :)

Love seeing everyone's sketches and I still hope to begin joining in soon. . . I need to be less perfectionist and just share. . . drawing is not my strongest suit but I do love letting ti peek out here and there anyway.

    Have a lovely week there!
