It's the wee hours of the morning here in London. (Barnes, to be precise.) While Michael and the boys continue to sleep upstairs, I sit at the kitchen table, gazing out the window at the beautiful trees, shrubs, vines and old iron cast fence surrounding the lovely home we've been blessed to stay at while here. With my tea cup in hand, I slowly begin our first morning together here in London. I quietly start the laundry, carry out the rubbish and recyclables to the curb, hoping not to make a peep so the "men of the house" can continue on with their rest before venturing out to the streets of London...
Welcome to the UK Alexandra! I hope the flight over was not too tiring. Typical of the men, sleeping whilst letting others put out the rubbish!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. It wasn't too bad. I just don't enjoy having my legs cramped up for that many hours. The view flying into both Iceland and England was incredible! xx
DeleteAre you a morning person like me or just trying to adjust to the time change? Such a peaceful and lovely street, all the best to you and Michael on this fun and challenging adventure. ~ karen
ReplyDeleteps Finally starting to paint again... see you soon on the web:)
Both! haha I've been getting to bed near midnight here and back up within 6 hours or so. No wonder I'm constantly tired! Ha! Thank you for your well wishes and we'll do our best to keep everyone posted. :)

"Oh the places you'll go"...............just the start of a great adventure for you and Michael.
ReplyDeleteHope your jet lag subsides quickly and you can get into the rhythm of living in England!
Seeing the Union Jack is wonderful - always makes me a bit homesick though!
Hugs - Mary
I know, Mary! We've already have so much fun with the boys. We're on our last week of holiday this week and then we settle in and back to "life" for the next 3 months with Michael's family. :)
Deleteyour precious time in London has begun!
ReplyDeleteYes, it has! :)
DeleteThe first time I went to the UK, I was going to stay with friends up in Birmingham but, having gotten into London too late to get currency exchanged to be able to take the last train, (that dates my trip huh?) I ended up having to stay up all night in the city. Easy to do as it was a Friday I believe. . .
ReplyDeleteI found Piccadilly Circus around 11pm and ended up sitting on the round-about's steps with various night-folk all night long until a little donut shop off the circus opened at 5am. Looking back, I suppose I was young enough to find it all a great adventure as every time I returned to London I had to stop "home" at Piccadilly and say hello to my favorite place. :)
Enjoy these first days and the image you posted is so evocative of a snippet of London, isn't it?
Awww what a wonderful memory! Thank you for sharing with me. I feel honored. hee This is in the Brompton area and was a lovely walk that evening. :)
