A special thank you to my hubby, Michael, for helping me in adding lights/darks. He's a great teacher and I'm quite proud of my very first digital painting. Thank you, Mooks!
this look great, smoots! So glad you got it in in time and jsut barely so! But, no worries--a few others did to.
ReplyDeleteI love the coziness of this piece. Maxwell is a great name too btw! Inspired by the barista perhaps? :) Great job keeping up with this. I think it came out great!!
Thank you for adding your talents to CT too. Time to do a montage with having reached SEVEN peeps joining in the lamp lit fun! Love your write up too. Perfect! :)
Thank you! And thank you for suggesting to give the digital app a try. It turned out wonderful and I couldn't be happier! And thank you for your patience in teaching/guiding me along the way. Oomwah!!

So so cute. It pulls the viewer right in. I've never done digital, but I would have never guessed. It looks like watercolor.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Barbara. Digital is fun and challenging. haha I had to sit it down and walk away a few times. lol :)
DeleteA fabulous magical page.
ReplyDeleteYvonne

I love how you both have pet names for each other, and wow Alexandra this is a digital painting? I thought it was your new pens. Great story to go with it, magical.
ReplyDeletehahaha Thanks, Christine. haha Yep, a digital painting. Crazy, huh? I do hope to use my markers for the "monster" theme next. :)
DeleteI like to go there for a visit. such a sweet entryway, certainly for anyone wanting a little light and maybe a snack or two. great take on the CT theme.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Me, too, Lissa. How about we venture off together! hee hee :)
DeleteA lovely drawing, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteJess xx
Thank you, Jess. Lovely to see you pop in. :)
DeleteI am not sure what I think of 'digital' painting. It's like e-books vs paper books.
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought that this was digital if you hadn't said. It looks hand painted. Amazing!
Yeah, I felt the same way in the past but this app has certainly changed my mind a bit. It really has the ability to reflect whatever medium you want to "paint" in. Thank you so much! :)
Deletethis came out quite lovely! a charming piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tammie! :)
DeleteOh, Alexandra, I want to live on Rabbit's Hill. Love the lanterns. Okay, I love everything in this painting! :-)
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you, Tracy! Hee Blushing here now. lol :)
Deletei love your composition...it really draws you right in! what software/app did you use?
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. This was illustrated with Procreate. It's a lot like Photoshop but the price is significantly cheaper. :D
DeleteWell done with your first digital painting Alexandra, it is just wonderful. The dynamics of this is spot on with the lamp being the central focus point leading your eye around all the rest. Just love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Linda. I'm blessed by your comment. awwww xx
DeleteVery magical!! I love this image! Beautiful Alexandra! I think you are your hubby are so cute together!

Very very nice painting and your first digital! Did you enjoy it/. I started sketching and then painting it in digitally (but I still use a mouse to paint not a brush like I suppose most people do)... about 4 years ago and now I find it hard to paint traditionally. Everything is digital for me now. I like not having a mess to clean up, lol.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy it although I think I truly love real hand-painting overall. I still plan to learn digital more and more, so I am well-rounded with my illustration. :D
