The House on Rabbit Hill

...where friends are all around and teatime is every afternoon at 4:00. Don't be late or you'll miss special guests from near and far! If you're running behind, Mr. Maxwell will leave his lamps lit for you to light the way. Hurry now. Grab your sack filled with delightful goodies and come say hello.

For more contributions on the current theme, "lamps", hop on over to Creative Tuesdays. You're sure to find a bit of magic and a pocketful of smiles.

A special thank you to my hubby, Michael, for helping me in adding lights/darks. He's a great teacher and I'm quite proud of my very first digital painting. Thank you, Mooks!

  2. So so cute. It pulls the viewer right in. I've never done digital, but I would have never guessed. It looks like watercolor.

  8. I am not sure what I think of 'digital' painting. It's like e-books vs paper books.
I would never have thought that this was digital if you hadn't said. It looks hand painted. Amazing!

    1. Yeah, I felt the same way in the past but this app has certainly changed my mind a bit. It really has the ability to reflect whatever medium you want to "paint" in. Thank you so much! :)

    1. Thank you very much. This was illustrated with Procreate. It's a lot like Photoshop but the price is significantly cheaper. :D

  12. Well done with your first digital painting Alexandra, it is just wonderful. The dynamics of this is spot on with the lamp being the central focus point leading your eye around all the rest. Just love it!

  14. Very very nice painting and your first digital! Did you enjoy it/. I started sketching and then painting it in digitally (but I still use a mouse to paint not a brush like I suppose most people do)... about 4 years ago and now I find it hard to paint traditionally. Everything is digital for me now. I like not having a mess to clean up, lol.

    1. I did enjoy it although I think I truly love real hand-painting overall. I still plan to learn digital more and more, so I am well-rounded with my illustration. :D
