Sunday Sketches: Floral Patterns
This week, I played with some floral patterns that have been floating around in my creative mind for the past 6 months or more. It's one of those ideas I hope to transition into wallpaper and/or material at some point in time. Of course, it's on my list of, "Wouldn't that would be awesome to do one day?!" (Raise your hand if you've got one of those mile long lists on your desk?)
Anyway, I utilized my new Tombow brushes again, exploring the combination of colors and layers in each illustration. They need a lot of fine tuning but at least my ideas are now down on paper. I'd love to hear your thoughts and any ideas you might have for the above drawings or future ones.
I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to this past week. Happy Sunday Sketches!

I think it's important to have a "Wouldn't that be awesome to do one day" list. I have one too.
ReplyDeleteI can picture the designs you did on soft cotton fabric, maybe for a toddler's dress. Now that they are down on paper, it's one step closer to bringing the ultimate goal to fruition.
Oh I LOVE those backgrounds!!I can so see them as fabric or you should think about doing a digital background to sell on etsy!! you could list and have the digital background loaded for instant download and no extra work for you. they are awesome!! love them both but the colors in the bottom one really pop! great job! Happy Sunday Sketches!! have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeletethis would be beautiful printed material for summer tops or dresses,, for little girls or big ones too,
ReplyDeleteits bright fun and beautiful,,
Loving your patterns today! I do have a couple of long lists.
ReplyDeleteLovely patterns!!! <3
ReplyDeleteMy list is so long, too. Ehehehe
My 'wouldn't that be awesome to do one day list' actually lives in my head, but maybe I should write it down, it is getting long and longer.
ReplyDeleteI like you fresh, spring feel of the top and the warm, summer one at the bottom. I agree with Laurie, girls' summer dresses is what I kept thinking.
Happy Sunday!
How wonderful!!!! Your floral patterns are so charming and I would love to have them on my stationary. A notebook with the blue one and a pencil case from the red one. Oh and of course would I love to have a table cloth from both :) I LOVE them!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm picturing those designs on a flowing summer/spring dress. Beautiful!
ReplyDeletei agree with Laurie...this would be so pretty as material for summer clothes! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I have a long list of things I want to do and try and learn. Mine isn't really a list...but a bunch of post-it notes!! Every time I think of something new, I add it to the every growing post-it note wall!
I love the flower patterns you're developing - so happy and refreshing. I could see the bottom one as a table cover.
ReplyDeleteOh those are so sweet and lovely! I too have a long wish list, although it's mainly in my head...
ReplyDeleteOh love these floral patterns ~ you such a wonderful illustrator ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteHad minor surgery this week so behind in commenting and not sure where I left off returning comments ~ ^_^

ReplyDeleteYour designs make me think of spring and oh boy do I need spring.
ReplyDeleteI need to create a list as I haven't got one.
