Creativity birthed in the wee morning hours


Yesterday, Mr. Toast and I awoke in the early morning hours. Um, seriously way weeeeeee early morning - like 3:30 am! I'm not sure why we were awake and restless but we took advantage of the time and made our way to a new local coffee shop just a few minutes down the road from our cozy little home. It was utterly magical to arrive before the sun was up and snuzzle up in the corner by the window to sip on our favorite lattes.

One of the perks of getting up so early is getting to dive into my illustration work earlier than planned. So far, I've been able to keep up with the daily inktober 2015 challenge, while also finishing up some upcoming book projects. Stay tuned for a special, upcoming announcement in regards to my ongoing children's illustration projects.

    you guys are funny, I was not expecting a trip to the coffee shop at those hours! Our coffee shops wouldn't be open in our area!

      haha They actually didn't open up until 6am but that's STILL early for coffee! :D

    that looks like a cozy little place!! your little ink drawing really adorable!

    sometimes i wake up early but i just lay in bed tossing and turning. i should be like you and get up and make some art. at least that's productive!!

    I use to work in a coffee shop that was open 24 hours, we surprisingly got a lot of people coming in for coffee at midnight lol
