Sunday Sketches: Growing little by little

I've been enjoying this brand new private Facebook Artist Journal Workshop I'm now a part of.  The daily themes have been challenging at times but good for me; pushing me outside of my comfort zone so I can grow in my watercolor/sketching skills.  The first painting was for today's theme/challenge - flowers.  I wanted to create a zen-like doodle on top of spattered watercolor and am pleased with it since it's probably the first time I've done any sort of thing such as this.

The second painting is my version of Claude Monet's 19th century painting titled, "The Costoms House Morning Effect". It was quite intimidating at the beginning but I'm glad I pushed through because the end results were more than I could have ever hoped for!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!  Happy SS! I look forward to catching up with everyone.

  1. LOVE the way you've interpreted these themes - gorgeous work!! I always keep a vase of fresh flowers in the window ledge of the kitchen - somehow they make cooking/cleaning a little more pleasant.
